Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Material Handling
Specialist to oversee the efficient movement, storage, and
organization of materials and components used in the production of
overhead cranes. The Specialist will play a crucial role in
maintaining a well-organized and optimized workflow within the
material handling department.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other material
handling equipment to move materials, components, and finished
products within the facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, shipping containers, and
storage areas.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and components
against purchase orders and specifications.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle
counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Organize and label materials in designated storage areas for
easy retrieval.
- Arrange and organize materials and components in a way that
maximizes space utilization and accessibility.
- Ensure materials are stored in a manner that prevents damage,
deterioration, and contamination.
- Collaborate with production teams to provide them with the
necessary materials and components in a timely manner.
- Monitor material usage patterns to anticipate production needs
and prevent shortages.
- Inspect materials and components for damage, defects, or
discrepancies before they are used in production.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team to report and address
any issues related to material quality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating
material handling equipment and performing tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to
supervisors immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements, transactions,
and inventory levels.
- Generate reports on material consumption, stock levels, and
other relevant metrics.
- Identify opportunities to streamline material handling
processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process
enhancements.Required Skills/Abilities
- Proven experience in material handling, logistics, or warehouse
operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other
material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and basic
computer skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically
demanding environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to
material handling.
- Punctual, reliable, self-starter
- Be able to pass forklift driver test
- Valid Drivers license and in good standingEducation/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical
certifications in material handling or logistics are a plus.Work

- Ability to work at a desk or stand for prolonged period of
time
