Job SummaryThe Baking and Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and pastries with a focus on quality, presentation, and taste. This role requires a strong understanding of baking techniques, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-energy environment. An exceptional Baking and Pastry Cook will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products that align with our standards.
Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and Bake: Create a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ingredient Management: Maintain organized, stocked workstations, managing inventory and practicing proper food rotation.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for taste, texture, and presentation; adapt recipes for special requests or seasonal ingredients.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate timing and ensure baked items are ready for service.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Keep baking areas, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized, adhering to food safety guidelines.

    • Minimum 1-year cooking experience required
    • Active Food Handlers certificate required
    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
    • Ability to work as part of a team and in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills

        • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
        • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping to operate kitchen equipment and prepare ingredients.
        • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, including trays, boxes of ingredients, and baking equipment.
        • Manual dexterity required for shaping, mixing, and decorating pastries and baked goods.
        • Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment, with exposure to temperature variations and moderate noise levels.
