Job Description:
Supervising, training and hiring of employees to work in the
warehouse either as laborers, equipment operators, clerks or
inventory control personnel.
Assigns workers to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of
and storing incoming merchandise and assembling customer orders for
delivery.
Scheduling employees, truck drivers, arranging drop offs and
deliveries, LTL, Parcel, Expediting DFF, IB containers and
scheduling loading dock use of mechanized equipment such as
forklifts. Ensure all production orders are shipped to customers in
a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules (OTIF).
Ensure all appropriate safety regulations are being followed both
with regards to personal safety and safety of inventory.
Manage the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of all
inventory and non inventory freight, product, and supplies that
come in and out of warehouses.
Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to
the appropriate parties.
Maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet
internal and external demand of product.
Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action.
Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters;
make adjustments where necessary. Directs reclamation of damaged
merchandise.
Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or
equipment.
Using 6S, People soft and UPS World Shipping info and system
reports.
Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent
loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization. Take
into account full implications of freight turnover, size, weight,
and other factors when allocating warehouse space.
Manage an annual budget plan for warehousing functions across the
organization.
Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated
products and/or hazardous materials.
Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of, moving equipment
like trailers, forklifts, crash pads, dollies, and so on.
Supervise facility design, improvements, and contracts, including
real estate transactions, leases, repairs, and design.
Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and
outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and
keeping of warehouse inventory.
Incorporate technology based solutions (i.e. WMS)
Checking and verifying shipping records, handling questions or
concerns of shipping shortages or overages and addressing any
problems with inventory control
Coordinates activities of distribution warehouse with activities of
sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure
availability of merchandise.
Reviews bills of lading for incoming merchandise and customer
orders in order to plan work activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises five to ten employees. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and
training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
